The Benefits of Finding Great Primary Care

The temps are falling, the leaves are crunching beneath our heels, and there’s pumpkin spice flavor everywhere… It’s also Primary Care Week!

Most of us don’t seek medical care until we need it. That’s okay, but establishing care with a great provider you can depend on takes time. Basic checkups don’t get enough praise, and they’re an excellent way to have someone trustworthy and ready for those unplanned times when you need some helpful answers.

What is Primary Care?

Primary care is an opportunity for treatment and education about basic or more complex health issues. When conditions or injuries are treated timely through regular and routine visits, clinicians and their patients can collaborate proactively on a treatment plan. Timely treatment and care help patients return to doing the activities and goals they wish to accomplish.

Each primary care visit includes an in-depth conversation with one of our board-certified nurse practitioners. At our Grand Forks Walk-In Clinic, visits can be scheduled by phone or walk-in. For patients walking in, we offer a first-come, first-serve appointment schedule based on the severity of their needs. Patients also have the option to make regular and routinely scheduled visits to the walk-in clinic.

Establishing a consistent primary care provider is important across all stages of life. We also serve seniors on-site, where they live in various independent, assisted living, and memory care settings. From infancy and childhood to advanced age, having access to a clinician who understands a patient’s unique needs is vital for an excellent quality of life.

Common Reasons for Primary Care Visits:

  • Annual exams
  • Chronic conditions
  • Disease diagnosis
  • Medication management
  • Non-urgent health care needs
  • Preventative services

Wellness should be a priority even if you feel good. Analyzing your daily patterns can help you learn how to stay that way. If you’d like to learn more or establish care with a Legacy Medical Nurse Practitioner, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us!

As an independent healthcare company, we have cared for seniors in their homes for over four years. After successfully developing personal connections with senior patients in more than 30 communities across four states, we decided that we wanted to provide even more.

Legacy’s Ongoing Commitment to Wellness
